Addictive Hardcore rock band Lawless Breed return to Australia after a short tour in Europe with shows in Germany, Netherlands and UK.
The bands first return show is November 8th for The Children's Cancer Foundation at The Snowy Ride at Thredbo which is an amazing annual event with thousands of motor bike riders gathering to raise funds for this important research and care for the children. You can find out more at www.thesnowyride.com.au.
Their new album, currently being remixed, is powered by unadulterated fire brand guitars and filthy hardcore riffs. The guitars are underlined by thunderous rhythms and drums, Australian rock at it's best. Vocalist, Steve Mulry has a searing voice, powerful and mesmerizing.
Titled 'Blood Money' has been created with the same live atmospheric feel and power the band commands at their live concerts. Lawless Breed have toured many times side by side with legend rock band Angel City and Rose Tattoo. If you are a lover of high grade hardcore rock, this is for you !
REVIEW - ADDICTED - Single
Sydney band Lawless Breed are a typically hard, gritty and workman like group of tough men ready to crush you with their rock n roll onslaught. Even on this CD Single with a short and extended version of ‘Addicted’, you get a good taste of what this band is about.
Immediately springing to mind when I hear these tracks are similarities to both Gunners bands, Guns N Roses and LA Guns (maybe even a little Velvet Revolver too for obvious reasons). Not entirely of course but in that sleazy sounding riff style. It has that international element combined with the traditions of good Aussie hard rock such as the thumping bass lines driving the tune.
Chugging along emphatically is the title track ‘Addicted’ with Steve Murly’s soaring and soulful vocals piercing at the front of the mix. It doesn’t sound dated but it does sound “classic” and we’ve been missing that in Australia until very recently. ‘Big Talker’ is a perfect follow on and is actually my favourite on the disc. That sleazy riffing is more prominent here but I also get a sense of Y&T from the vocals on this one. Whatever, it’s a great hard rocker and I doubt many of you would disagree. ‘Don’t Come Looking’ follows similarly in the no nonsense, balls out, ‘did you just look at me cockeyed cos I’ll sock in the mouth if you did’ kind of way. It has a passion and groove, slick with a punch.
These guys are accomplished musicians and they’ve played with some big acts through the years. Certainly that shows in the music and if this is a peak at what’s to come then we can all look forward to some great rock n roll coming our way soon from Lawless Breed. Fans of Aussie legends AC/DC, The Angels and Rose Tattoo will love this as much as the sleaze rock fans of ‘Gunners and Motley Crue.
